Running a Gap Review
How to run an AI gap review on your fund's policy documents.
What is a gap review?
A gap review is an AI analysis that compares your uploaded policy document against Nia's best-practice knowledge base. It produces a structured report identifying areas where your policy may fall short of best practice, along with prioritized suggestions for improvement.
Gap reviews are advice-only. The system identifies gaps and suggests improvements — it does not rewrite, redraft, or modify your policy in any way. Your team evaluates the suggestions and decides which to act on.
Running a review
- Open your indexed policy document in the Policy Hub.
- Click Review against Nia best practice (the button with the sparkles icon).
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Gap reviews consume one of your monthly AI runs, so confirmation is required before proceeding.
- Click Confirm to start the review.
The status shows Pending while the review is running, then Completed when the report is ready.
Run costs
Each gap review consumes one AI run from your monthly allowance. See Usage Caps for your plan's monthly run limits.
If you have reached your monthly run limit, the gap-review button will be unavailable until the next billing period.
Tips for better results
- Upload complete documents. A full policy gives better gap-review results than a summary or an outline.
- Use clear titles and categories. These help the AI match your policy against the relevant sections of Nia's knowledge base.
- Plan your reviews. Gap reviews consume runs — consider which policies are highest priority before running.
Next step
Once your review is complete, read the gap-review report.
